Daily Delights

Vintage Cream Lace Collar, Mint Striped Mini Dress, Blue Skirt - OOTD 1/12/2014

Gotta start with the affected glamor shots. I couldn't resist including them. (Please pretend you don't notice my atrociously wrinkled blue skirt. Shhh, it's our secret.)

Isn't it funny how a little thing can shape your whole day? Sometimes unpleasantly, like when you have to unfriend someone on Facebook for making an offensive joke. But sometimes you wear a vintage lace collar that your mother gave you months ago, and it makes everything feel special.

I've also recently gotten back into the habit of wearing perfume every day, which increases regular specialness, if you'll excuse the oxymoron. My go-to at the moment is Benefit's "Laugh With Me Lee Lee"--a gift from my sister a birthday or two ago--but I also have a dwindling sample of Valentino's "Valentina" that is perfectly lovely and I'll be sad to be without. I hope my mom picks up another one from wherever she got it.

  2. I really love the delicate collar in contrast with the striped top underneath. But your smile is the crowning glory here! Thank you for leaving such a nice comment on my blog ;-)

  3. That collar is divine! You paired it nicely with the dress. Also - dresses with pockets... always a win! :)

    1. Indeed! I feel bad for not wearing it immediately after she gave it to me, but I feel like it's a hard piece to pull off.

  5. I come to you via UBC! I have to say that I LOVE your hair. I am not much of a fashion person, my idea of fashion is sweatshirts and jeans. I struggle to put clothes together. I walk into a clothing store and become so overwhelmed that I usually end up walking back out with a headache! Your clothes are super cute!

    1. Thank you! I also often feel overwhelmed by stores, especially big ones. I mainly go to the dresses section, and then sometimes cardigans, because those are what I wear most frequently. Shopping can be stressful!

  6. LOVE the collar! Also the wrinkles - I do exactly the same thing fairly regularly, because I don't own an iron :-P

    2. Also local thrift stores, especially church thrift stores. Anywhere that little old ladies might frequent!

  12. A day without perfume is like a day without sunshine. There, I've said it.

    1. I'll drink to that! Not perfume, though. It doesn't taste as nice as it smells.
