Daily Delights
Gotta start with the affected glamor shots. I couldn't resist including them. (Please pretend you don't notice my atrociously wrinkled blue skirt. Shhh, it's our secret.)
Isn't it funny how a little thing can shape your whole day? Sometimes unpleasantly, like when you have to unfriend someone on Facebook for making an offensive joke. But sometimes you wear a vintage lace collar that your mother gave you months ago, and it makes everything feel special.
I've also recently gotten back into the habit of wearing perfume every day, which increases regular specialness, if you'll excuse the oxymoron. My go-to at the moment is Benefit's "Laugh With Me Lee Lee"--a gift from my sister a birthday or two ago--but I also have a dwindling sample of Valentino's "Valentina" that is perfectly lovely and I'll be sad to be without. I hope my mom picks up another one from wherever she got it.

That lace collar is the prettiest thing ever Sonya!!! Definitely would make any icky day better. These three pieces..the collar, top, and skirt and so uniquely and quite beautifully layered.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marisa! If only the collar were easier to wear. . .
DeleteI really love the delicate collar in contrast with the striped top underneath. But your smile is the crowning glory here! Thank you for leaving such a nice comment on my blog ;-)

Thank you for doing the same thing!
DeleteThat collar is divine! You paired it nicely with the dress. Also - dresses with pockets... always a win! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, apparently it's becoming a theme! Thanks, Danielle.
Delete"Regular specialness" should totally be a thing! Love the pretty vintage collar, what a wonderful gift from your mom!

Indeed! I feel bad for not wearing it immediately after she gave it to me, but I feel like it's a hard piece to pull off.
DeleteI come to you via UBC! I have to say that I LOVE your hair. I am not much of a fashion person, my idea of fashion is sweatshirts and jeans. I struggle to put clothes together. I walk into a clothing store and become so overwhelmed that I usually end up walking back out with a headache! Your clothes are super cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I also often feel overwhelmed by stores, especially big ones. I mainly go to the dresses section, and then sometimes cardigans, because those are what I wear most frequently. Shopping can be stressful!
DeleteLOVE the collar! Also the wrinkles - I do exactly the same thing fairly regularly, because I don't own an iron :-P
ReplyDeleteHaha, then you have a better excuse than I!
DeleteYes, I love the collar (makes the outfit very unique) and your shoes! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Happy Monday to you too, Kajsa.
DeleteI agree, the collar really does make the attire unique and appealing. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' that lace collar! Where can I find something similar?
ReplyDeleteEtsy and eBay would be good places to look!
DeleteAlso local thrift stores, especially church thrift stores. Anywhere that little old ladies might frequent!
DeleteThat collar is so vintage, and gives the outfit a romantic air. Creases....no, thats the wrinkled look. :)
ReplyDeleteHA, I sure hope so! I hate ironing.
Deletenice unique dress. the collar in the dress looks great.
ReplyDeleteA day without perfume is like a day without sunshine. There, I've said it.
ReplyDeleteI'll drink to that! Not perfume, though. It doesn't taste as nice as it smells.
DeleteWow, that lace collar is so Victorian-perfection it kind of makes me want to cry. Beautiful styling.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my dear! My mom found it at some dinky thrift shop--if only there were twenty more!
