Mugwump & Flood
More shoes! This time they are not being worn by me. My friend Kate's rainbow-ish sneakers look good on the equally colorful doormat.
This morning we biked over to Portland's Saturday Market. There were two fashion-y vendors that appealed to me very much, so I snagged their business cards. Happily, both of them have websites! First up is Mugwump, featuring purses made out of children's books:
They're so adorable! If only they were also functional. I need my bags to be durable and have pockets and stuff. Anyway, next is Flood Clothing:
Yup, that's an upcycled patchwork wedding dress!

Yes! Yes! Yes! To Flood! Thanks so much for the amazing introduction. I am surfing and loving right now.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! =)
DeleteThose bags made out of books are so awesome! People are so creative. I love it!
ReplyDeleteRight?! Maybe I should try the project myself...
Delete*scream* those bags!!!! :-D
ReplyDeleteI love the green dude's outfit. It's very RPG, somehow! Rangery, perhaps... someone give that man a crossbow!
I'm sure he would be delighted to be presented with a crossbow!
Delete[ Smiles ] Wow, the up-cycled patchwork wedding dress looks impressive!
ReplyDeleteI thought so too!
DeleteI love the idea of using children's books as a purse! I think it's a good use of books that may have gotten ripped up or damaged (my daughter has torn her fair share of pages out of books from when she was a little bit younger).
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am totally in love with Flood's clothes. Like, omg!
Totally! I bet you could pick up a bunch of semi-destroyed at a preschool, or even just at a thrift store.
DeleteHer bags are pretty cool, i purchased one. The material is soft and processed like a plastic i wish i knew how she did this. Its not laminated.
