Before getting down to business, I want to thank everyone who responded to yesterday's confession. I really appreciate the encouragement and support. Seriously, it helps. Anyway, moving on:
Sara Lehtomaa takes beautiful photos. I just wish that she would expand her pool of subjects beyond the pale, thin, stereotypically attractive girls who you see in this post. They're lovely, but they're not the only lovely ones. Granted, it sounds like she lives in upper Europe, where the demographics differ greatly from the Bay Area. So I won't judge too harshly.
[Edit: The hyperlinked pictures broke. Click through on the photographer's name, above, to see examples of her work.]
I love that last one with the roses best :-)
ReplyDeleteRainbow! =)
DeleteVery glamorous vision of the ideal woman. Provoking. All of the women are obscured or held back by objects.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting point! Your insight is always intriguing.
DeleteWow thank you Sonya, I'm really glad you like my photos! :)
ReplyDeleteAs a photographer I feel like I've just within the last year started to develop my own style and I'm personally as well starting to feel like I want to expand my photography from the stereotypical thin (but very beautiful) young model girls. Variation is always a good thing and makes it all a bit more interesting. In my next project I'm actually working with a variety of models of different age and sex. So make sure not to miss that one! ;)
Anyhow, I appreciate the mention. And it's always nice to get feedback :) Take care! Kisses and hugs from Finland!
- Sara
I am very excited to see your continuing work!
