Town Mouse
Literally every single time I wear a dress with pockets, I think about this Tumblr post:
Yup, just enjoying my pockets. Also thinking about the awkwardness of my brooch being too heavy for the sweater fabric. Leaving that concern aside...
Today was an eventful one for me, stalwart homebody that I am. My mom and I drove into Petaluma (a nearby city) to pick out her new glasses and window-shop through all the schmancy antique stores. We ate lunch at Topsy's Kitchen, a restaurant that I was drawn to because there were yellow flowers on every table:
Side note: anyone who wants ridiculously long-lasting lipstick should just fill in their lips with lip liner. Anyway, the food was good. I tried shrimp grits for the first time! But the dish wasn't pretty, so I didn't take pictures.

Is your title a reference to that Little Golden Book? Because I totally loved that one and *still* have my copy!
ReplyDeleteAlso that Tumblr post is so true ;-) Loving the navy/orange combo!
Not an intentional reference, but I've probably read that story! And thank you, m'dear.
DeletePockets are a pretty big deal! Love the skirt.
ReplyDeleteI get really excited because so few ~lady clothes~ have them! Thanks.
DeleteNice teacups :) My hubby has a big thing about pockets. I wonder if lady clothes have less pockets as we tend to use handbags/purses? Beautiful as ever Sonya.
ReplyDeleteI think it's more the other way around--we use purses because we don't have pockets! But either way, thank you, Jackie!
DeleteI love pockets however I always shy away thinking it makes my hips look to big. I agree with the lipstick comment. Lip liner is always the way to go!! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy hips are gonna look big no matter what I do, so I just go with the pockets, haha! I generally prefer lipstick, but sometimes you wanna have a cherry pout all day.
DeleteVery cute! Looks like it was a great outing!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was fun.
DeleteThis dress is so pretty and I love the socks! I am so envious of your bare legs!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yup, living in California has its perks.
DeleteWhat a cute look! love it!
ReplyDeleteYou look like a model, can't remember the name - She has a very specific look about her -
I love your area so much, I was there last March
You should see the weather here! but it was ok this weekend, we had milder temperatures!
Take care

Oh gosh, I can't imagine living in Canada! And thank you!
DeleteYou know, its funny how excited we get over pockets! I never use pockets in dresses/skirts but I get excited when I find dreses with them. I must just like knowing I can put my hands in them if I want. That said, what a cute resturant! I love flowers in winter, they're like a little beacons of promise that summer will come again.
ReplyDeleteSAME! I guess I occasionally stick a tissue in there, or my keys. . . Maybe if more of my clothes had pockets I would get into the habit of using them? Anyway, I feel the same re: flowers, even though my area isn't having a proper winter this year (or ever, haha).
DeletePockets are usually seal the deal for me when it comes to buying a dress. They are just so HANDY!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to ask... how do you usually take your pictures? Do you have someone take them for you? Do you use a tripod? I am curious!
Ahhhhh, I see what you did there! PUNNY. I use a tripod and a remote. Often you can see the remote in my hand, haha.
DeleteThe pastel socks are so perfect for this! I love it!
