Leafy Little Lady
Look at me playing forest fairy! In retrospect, these antics were totally inspired by "Autumn Passing" on The Clothes Horse. I have to curse myself a little for doing something so contrived and manic-pixie-dream-girl-ish, but I also think it's cute. Maybe I'm not supposed to acknowledge that I try to be adorable? Because it's only charming if it's effortless and unaffected, or whatever. But I do make that daily attempt.
Anyway, you know how yesterday my outfit just felt wrong? Today was basically the opposite. I thrifted this skirt recently, and I totally love it for the giant pockets.
Foot, you are engaging in unauthorized activities! (Cut to that scene of Kevin Bacon tearin' up a warehouse with his emotive groovy moves.)
My blouse is actually a tank dress, which is why there's a dark shadow under the skirt. I didn't realize it would show through in the sunlight, or I might have worn a slip.

You have the best headbands in the world!
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear! But this was actually just a branch that I picked up for the photos, haha.
DeleteThat is the best skirt! I am such a sucker for thrifted midi skirts. Especially full ones like that. Two summers ago, I found so many of them, and then last summer I got burnt out. Who knows what this summer will bring! You're looking so cute! <3
ReplyDeleteThis one has so much natural volume! I love it. I think I'll try layering my petticoat underneath for even more poof. Thank you!
DeleteCute outfit! I like your hair a lot as well :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteHah! I hear that manic pixie girl phrase and I always think of Tinkerbell whacked out on crack. I was going to say you have a very old school, English country schoolgirl thing going on and I quite like it! You are able to pull off this leangrh of skirt so perfectly, you have such long legs and give the skirt a quite elagance.
ReplyDeleteBahaha, I can definitely imagine Tinkerbell partying with the big boys (so to speak). Thank you!
