Hello lovelies! How are you all doing?
As I write this, my mom and I just finished the last episode of Extreme Cheapskates on Netflix. It's a reality TV show about people who will do anything to save a buck. We've been watching in wide-eyed horror, interrupted by the occasional exclamation of "I didn't know you could do that!" The penny-pinching techniques on the show provoke reactions ranging from "huh, that's neat" to "EW NO". Here's an example of something that I would try: gathering wild greens for a salad. Something that I would not try: going around at a restaurant asking other diners for their leftovers. That's not even one of the disgusting ones... If you decide to watch this show, I hope you have a strong stomach.
I'm somewhat of a cheapskate when it comes to clothes. (Not in a gross way, although I did once find a Stella & Dot necklace in a box on the side of the road.) You may have noticed that all of my clothes were either thrifted, gifted, or DIY. That's mostly because I don't have an income at the moment, but it's no big deal. Constraints force creativity! Anyway, recently my mom asked if I wanted my dad's old plaid shirt. I really like how it looks with this cream lace dress:

Lumberjack femme, right? My necklace is flipped over in that picture. Here's what it looks like right-side-up:

Love the lace dress with the plaid. Something Rayanne would wear on My So-Called life! And cheers to finding frugal! ;) I'm getting better at it now that I'm paying back all my grad school loans. Blech!
ReplyDeleteHAHA lumberjack femme, I love it! The plaid over the lace dress is perfect, I definitely want to try this out!
