Pink & Purple Beneath The Pergola
This random-seeming pole is one of the supports that hold up the patio awning. Here's a fun word: "pergola". I learned that by asking my mom, "What's the patio shade thingy called?" Anyway, I rigged my pink scarf into a halter-top in order to embellish my pixie dress. The color was bright enough to confound the camera!
Today was domestic and crafty. I typed up several of my grandma's poems while strolling on the treadmill desk. After that I watched SVU and sewed, then made a collage. I feel ridiculous describing these small activities, but I'm also earnestly trying not to berate myself for accomplishing less than I think I should. I feel guilty for the leisure of my privileged life...

I sometimes feel guilty about my leisurely lifestyle too. I just try to get something done each day. I want a treadmill desk so badly you have no idea. I have no room for one though, sadly.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I enjoyed learning a new word and I love the fun mix of pink and purple in this outfit.

Apparently I'm not the only one who didn't know "pergola"! Hopefully a treadmill desk is in your future ~
DeleteI love the halter top/scarf! Such a neat idea and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-*
Delete"Pergola" is a new word for me too. Perhaps because I've never had a patio awning. Love this color combo!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! This haircut is so flattering, and I'm loving the outfit as well. Sounds like you are doing thing for others each day (like typing up your grandma's poems) so you are being mindful and caring in your temporary lull under the pergola! :-) No need for guilt.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You are so sweet and encouraging <3
DeleteI think it's great that you have a blog dedicated to your grandmother's poetry!
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, you're making a great use of your leisure time. Though you have a lot of time to relax, you make the most of it and stay productive. :)
Thank you Danielle--you make me sound so much better than I feel, haha. <333
DeleteThat is an awesome pink - carry on counfounding, Sonya!
ReplyDeleteAlso, don't feel guilty for enjoying the small pleasures and accomplishments in life. I think today's society (in many places, not all) is way too concerned with either getting lots of 'stuff' done (regardless of whether it was actually beneficial), or convincing everyone else that we're all so busy and stressed etc, when we really don't have to be (cf my supervisor often emailing at 3 am).
I think it sounds like an entirely productive day!
That is so true, Syl. Thank you <3
