Damsel Indoors
Even though I spend the majority of my time inside, almost all of my photos are taken outdoors. There are two reasons for this: 1) My house has a "lived-in look", which euphemistically means "random junk everywhere". I think piles of paper grow from our coffee tables. 2) I have yet to figure out how to cope with lower lighting. Despite all the #strugglin, I like today's self-portraits. It's easy to clear a small space on the couch, so my need for un-busy backgrounds remains unbothered. Besides, comfy furniture is my natural habitat.
My mom thrifted this cardigan for me--she always keeps an eye out for cheap cashmere. The soft cream color and subtly scalloped blue trim feel very demure to me. My dress gives the outfit some fey playfulness, with its splatters of faux tie-dye purple. I didn't plan this combination, but perhaps I can still congratulate my subconscious; I quite enjoy the ensemble.

"comfy furniture is my natural habitat." You need your own nature documentary.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you look very put together today.
Thank you! It's my mom's contribution, I think =P
DeleteI love this outfit! A dress with a cardigan is pretty much my uniform. Haha. Lower lighting can be tricky but it looks liked you coped with it very well! These photos are so bright and pretty :D
ReplyDeleteI did it all in post-processing, haha =P Thank you!
DeleteMarvelous! You look lovely. I like the mix of tie dye with the cardigan.
ReplyDeleteTaking outfit photos this past winter was a struggle. It was too cold for me to want to do it outside, but it was also ridiculously dark so I had to take the pictures during a very specific time of the day. So glad it's summer and the options are opening up. (I can't wait for summer solstice! 24 hours of sunlight!)
I can't even imagine! & thank you :)
DeleteThe lighting looks great!
