Like the dress that I wore yesterday, this mod-style shift was a gift from my mom, made by an ethical clothing company. Avatar Imports endorses optimism: "Change your clothes, change the world, it really is that simple!" I appreciate their positive attitude. Enthusiastic belief in a better future helps motivate progress toward that future. Side note: today my uncle described my disposition as "sparkly" and I was very pleased.

My family had a big dinner together this evening, to celebrate my birthday. X even came over to eat with us, as a special favor to me. He's not big on obligatory social occasions, which I understand. But it feels really good to have so many of the people whom I love in one place, laughing and enjoying each other.

The weather was lovely, warm with a whisper of a breeze, so after dinner X and I took the neighbor's dog for a walk. We topped off the night with flourless chocolate cake, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. All in all, it was just about perfect. I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!
