ModCloth Celebrates All Sizes

This post was sponsored by ModCloth.

ModCloth plus-size patterned romper, made in the USA, with Grand Canyon background

The "Canyon Recreation" romper, superimposed over the American Southwest's most classic landscape. (Grand Canyon photo by Randy Pertiet.) I made a couple of collages--with varying levels of sloppiness; my bad--in celebration of ModCloth's one-year anniversary carrying plus-size clothing! Everybody deserves access to cute dresses, and I do mean everybody. Check out the "Full Range Fashions" page to see which styles people particularly enjoy.

As ever, one of the things I most appreciate about ModCloth is that you can find American-made options on their website, such as the two garments featured in this post. There are even fair-trade goods from Mata Traders (although not all of them are available in larger sizes, unfortunately).

Too much blur? Regardless, cute swimsuit! Background by Moyan Brenn. In addition to my collages, I picked several favorite shots from the outfit gallery:

  1. I particularly like that Mod Cloth has sexy and cute clothing for big gals. Because nobody wants to wear a tent and everyone deserves to look and feel like a queen.

Also, a lot of their stuff is Made in the USA, so that always earns my respect.

  2. I like how they have things for the more generously proportioned that still have tailored waists to them. I will never understand the line of thinking that says 'why waste tailoring on people who must want to hide in shapeless clothing?' - at least, that's what the thinking seems like sometimes.

I have a dear, beloved and close family member who is full of figure, and although I have not struggled personally, I have literally grown up watching her struggle against the fashion industry that (when it isn't urging her to diet herself down to a size that isn't natural for her) wants her to hide what she has underneath a monochrome sack. All the facepalms, people...
