June Pumpkin

handmade orange and bronze tunic, baby blue skirt, blonde pixie cut

This is why people try to avoid taking photos in very bright sunlight: weird, harsh shadows on the face. But every day I step out with my tripod around 2pm, because... I dunno, somehow it works best with my schedule? I may need to rearrange things to break that habit. Fashion Fragile is a visually-oriented blog, and I want it to be as pretty as possible.

Recognize the pattern on my tunic? I decided that I didn't like my dress/skirt creation from a couple months back, so I cut it up and used the fabric to make today's loose blouse. I am very pleased with the comfy, boho result, and also proud of myself for tackling the sewing machine. I find that darn contraption more intimidating than I'd like to, but apparently I can handle a few simple seams! Although I can't sew them straight. Not for the life of me. Perhaps after a bit more practice...

  1. I really want to learn to sew but it is a little intimidating! You did a great job making this blouse though! That pattern/color scheme will be really awesome for fall.

  2. Looks comfy! And sewing machines are surprisingly complicated little monsters. I can't really do more than sew simple straight (well, almost straight) seams.

  5. Wow you did an amazing job on turning it into a blouse! Sewing machines intimidate me too, I feel like I can't control that thing! I always feel like taking photos in the afternoon too. I was skeptical that taking them at different times during the day would even make a difference, but one day I forced myself to take them first thing in the morning and I was so surprised at how much more I liked them!

  6. Sewing machines are instruments of magic and horror. Well, at least when I'm piloting one (which isn't often, I confess). I love how creative and versatile you are with your clothes!
