Wham Pow (Seeing Stars)

blue sundress with red trim and star pattern

I have a hard time styling this dress in a way that feels interesting. It's a bright standout piece, so I'm not worried that I look boring. But how do I put a spin on it, in combination with other items, without making the outfit too busy? I'm open to suggestions. I ended up adding this black shrug when it got chilly.

Anyway, I wore this to go watch the hilariously awful Werewolf of Washington with my gentleman friend. We've been attending the monthly "Splatter Cinema" B-horror night hosted by my favorite local theater company. I'm making an effort to be more social. Therefore, silly group events!

  1. Silly - the spin is that it's *you* in the dress, as opposed to anyone else :-) The dress is bright and pretty, but you make the whole of the outfit!

  2. Very cute dress. Often bright pieces look better left on their own, but you know me, I would just pile a bunch of other colourful things on top anyways! It might look cute with some sort of belt though.

  3. This is very cute. I don't think it needs further styling, really. A good bold pattern is ace on its own :) Sorry I've been so MIA. Horrible psuedo-grown-up things and all that.

  4. Agreed with all above. You need no further styling. It is you. Although you could probably throw on some snug socks and cute shoes.
