Feeling Blah & Fujiyama

melancholy 2

A greyscale landscape is the perfect backdrop for melancholy, provided you're in the mood to forgive my shoddy Photoshop work.

I feel really unenthused about my wardrobe today. I spent more than an hour pawing through my drawers, making a pile of old shirts to get rid of, and trying on various combinations, hoping to trigger that satisfying rush of put-together-ness. No dice. How can I respond to this malaise? Should I try to power through it? I can't seem to rouse myself to the challenge. I am rouse-resistant. At least the billowing quality of a silk scarf is still enjoyable, since I'm such an earnest aesthete.

The upshot is that I'm going to spend the afternoon finishing How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia: A Novel. And moping--I suspect there will be plenty of that.

Here's the real photo, taken with my not-so-formidable webcam:

  2. *admires scarf too, and offers a range of bright lipsticks*

I always turn to a bright lipstick if I need a pick-me up (usually purple, red or fuchsia). I'm not sure exactly why it works...

    1. I do that too sometimes! It's surprising how effective it can be.

  3. I'm not going to lie, my job is literally to edit photos and I couldn't do a better job with inserting a background! You did a pretty freaking awesome job if I do say so myself.

    1. Aw, thank you! That makes me feel better! I'm always hyperaware of the outlines and stuff when I look at something I 'shopped =/
