Pep In My Step
I am trying out a standing desk. The recent buzz is that sitting down all day is bad for you. (See also: articles on Lifehacker & Forbes.) Up-and-coming health trends should be taken with a hefty tablespoon of salt, but I follow several of them anyway. For example, I don't eat most kinds of processed sugar, especially the ubiquitous sucrose, but I bake with agave syrup and coconut palm sugar. My rules for myself aren't completely rational; there are inconsistencies. Regardless, it just makes sense to me that eating less sugar is healthier. I feel the same way about standing rather than mooching around in my armchair. So I'm doing a trial run with a setup similar to this one. My ideal arrangement would be a gorgeous wood pulpit.
Day one observations: I am more energetic and active than usual. If there is music playing, I will dance while I'm typing. In fact, I am doing that right this minute, because my mom is streaming Miranda Lambert's Crazy Ex Girlfriend from her laptop.
My armband thingy is actually supposed to be a mug cozy. Simple outfits are perfect for accessories and OTT makeup:
Weirdly, my random Instagram #selfie demonstrates the drama better.
