This silhouette feels flapper-esque to me, because of my slouchy cardigan. I guess it's the dropwaist effect. And my lack of bust would have been fashionable back then! Someone take me to a '20s speakeasy, STAT. But only if I can wear this:
// Thoroughly Modern Millie //
Kiddinggg. I'm actually much too hippy for proper flapper attire. Julie Andrews rocks it, though. Too bad that movie is so racist. Anyway, moving on:
Usually I wait for my hair to dry before taking photos. I rushed today because I wanted to spend the morning working at a new local cafe. When I got there, I found out that they don't have wifi. It's their prerogative not to offer it, but I was still annoyed. On the bright side, delicious smoothies!
I have mixed feelings about being caught halfway by the camera. I don't like losing control of my image, but those moments can reveal something softer and more interesting than a carefully posed picture.
Love that lipstick! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe dress Julie is wearing is interesting - the '20s as seen through the lens of the '60s. Or something. I can't quite place it!
Thank you! & that sounds about right.
DeleteHow did I miss this? Julie wears the best clothing in Darling Lily - another movie that's not politically correct.
ReplyDeleteThat's one I haven't seen! I'll have to watch it!
DeletePlease do this to your hair more often! Looking like a major babe.
ReplyDeleteThank you! But it was just wet--I wonder if I could keep it that way with gel? Hmm
