I made this dress! It was a spur-of-the-moment project about a week ago. I was watching TV in my mom's workroom--she's a quilter--and feeling very blah. Sternly, I said to myself, "Stop sitting here like a lump. Get up and make something!" Scraps of fleece were piled on a box in the corner; I sewed them together into this, without using a pattern or even taking measurements. Unsurprisingly, the result is a bit wonky. I'm just impressed that it fits on my body and is comfortable! Being the ultimate fashionista that I am, (jokes), I will definitely wear this. Maybe as a nightgown.
Would you like to feel judged by a cute comic? I've got ya covered:

BUT I WANT NEW THINGS! In my defense, they don't have to be truly new. I intended to go thrifting today, but I ended up staying in and making another DIY garment, this time using a shawl. It turned out way better than the fleece dress. Pictures coming soon (to a theater near you... dun dun dun).
You didn't even take measurements!? YOU'RE CRAZY! Crazy awesome, that is.
ReplyDeleteI love that little comic at the end of the post. It's just the advice I need to get my ass back into the creating mode and less of the consuming mode.
Bahaha, *preens* I like the comic too!
DeleteThere is so much truth in that comic that it actually hurts. :-D
ReplyDeleteThe dress is awesome! I totally think you could wear it out, but it also looks like the perfect thing for schlubbing around the house, but *stylishly*.
IKR? I actually did wear the dress out, but I also slept in it!
DeleteI'm pretty sure hems are bewitched! And not in a good way. I have never ever sewed an even hem. And de-lumping oneself is definitely hard! It usually takes me a good night's sleep to recover.
ReplyDelete~high fives~ That has a nice profile and structure. Very impressed with your snuggly dress.
