The Recurring Blurgh

dark burgundy sweater

Shooting in bright sunlight is obviously the best idea and won't make anyone's face look weird at all. Go forth, ye with cameras.

Despite my purple-themed outfit, I have the blues today. Not indigo or anything intense like that, but maybe a desaturated shade of cornflower. Can you tell based on what I'm wearing? I feel schlumpy in a bad way, even though I tend to enjoy shapeless garments. I suspect that in a more structured outfit I would feel uncomfortably restricted instead. Bad mood = lose-lose style scenario.

My sister gave me a Lancome palette kinda like this one, but with more colors + blush. It's been fun to play with so far. I swear the blending looked better in person! (At least I hope so...) Also, Benefit lip gloss in "patootie", because that's totally another word for "beige".

  1. Ugh, I totally have those "blah" days where I'm just stuck in a mood and nothing really cheers me up or affects me. I feel like a giant blob when that happens! I love your eyeshadow btw, what's the name of the color?

    1. Yup, I hate that mood! I actually don't know what the eyeshadow is. I examined the palette for clues and then went to Google, but it appears to have been discontinued or is just no longer a current product, and goodness knows where the original packaging is.

  2. I think your eyeshadow looks lovely - I thought it before I even read the paragraph below the photo!

I may be biased about purple, but nicely done eyeshadow is nicely done eyeshadow :-)

Lancome is one of my favourite brands for eyeshadow, actually - I'd be curious to see a photo of the palette - to see if I could identify it!

    1. Thank you! I think your feelings about purple are rubbing off on me. I'm starting to notice how often I reach for it. & I'll try to remember to take a snap of the palette!

    1. Yes!!! I also use one of their basic mascaras and my all-time favorite perfume (sadly discontinued now) was by Benefit.

  6. Grrrr. I may not know much about your blurgh, but you are fierceness embodied. You look like a bold and empowered woman in these photographs. That is a look! Purple is you.

  7. Despite having sun in your face, and feeling super blurgh, you look amazing. I agree with Karen, rocking the "I don't give a shit because I'm bad ass thing" to a T.
