Tangerine Drama

Nope, I am not undead. Just pale and standing in the shade. But thank you for your concern!

Today's over-the-top eyeshadow was brought to you by an extreme underestimate of how potent this palette would be. I didn't purchase $1 makeup with the expectation that it would be anything but terrible. (If you're wondering, I do still feel guilty about having shopped at Dollar Tree.) When my dad first saw me, he did a double-take and then exclaimed, "I thought you got in a fight!"

Really pleased with my belt buckle:

  1. Mysterious. Maybe the expensive makeup is supposed to be more subtle, or something? I guess it just doesn't make sense :( And yeah, California baby!

  4. SO bold! I think it actually looks quite lovely!
I rule I gave myself (because I am makeup illiterate) is to either go all the way on the eyes or the mouth, but never both. I used to wear heavy goth makeup when I was in high school, and now I prefer more subtle stuff. (I used to draw patterns all over my face but now that just takes too much time to do it everyday!)

    1. Oooh, it'd be cool if you did a throwback post featuring some of those designs! Although I would also be interested in your current makeup routine

    2. That's a great idea! I will have to pick up some of my old makeup stuffs and then paint away. :D

  5. I actually like the make up. It's quite different and looks great on your skin. Also I love when girls with short hair rock dramatic make up!

  6. Ah, I wish I could look as chic in a heavy eye like this as you do! The color is perfection. I have no clue how to apply makeup like this and make it look so pretty like you did. And yes, that belt is perfect!

  7. This allover look is a good one for you! Shirt, pants,, buckle and shoes all look harmonious yet edgy. If you were taking this ensemble out for the day I'd suggest lightening the eye-make-up just a tad..though it'd be fine for dinner in a candle-lit restaurant! Looking great!

  9. "I thought you got in a fight." Haha I actually kind of love it. But maybe that's because I have a preference for dark makeup. Agree with Kat, though. So nice to see you experimenting with makeup! You should try some of MAC's quirkier lipsticks and liners I think :)
