Bonobos Menswear: Spring/Summer 2014

Bonobos Spring/Summer 2014

The tie on the right is killin' me! In a good way. Bonobos released their spring/summer collection for 2014, and it makes me wish that I had that $100+ to spend on a dress shirt, which I would absolutely tuck into a skirt like this one. Men's shirts don't fit me properly anyway... although that doesn't stop me from wearing my dad's old ones.

The Bonobos blog is entertaining, ranging from useful--"What's in a collar?"--to plain silly: "Unless you’re a committed nudist, sooner or later, you’re going to need a few quality dress shirts in your closet." Any committed nudists in the audience tonight?

"The New Dress Code". See, he's not a committed nudist. Unfortunately. There are some fine-lookin' models throughout the website...

Eye candy aside, I admire that Bonobos is willing to be open about their production policies:

"While we ensure that all of our factories meet social and economic benefits, we have not ventured into environmental sustainability yet. [We do not support vendors] that do not comply with established workers' rights laws within each country. [...] Our US-based sourcing team visits these factories routinely, and in fact, we have an office in Hong Kong as well for this purpose. Our CEO, Andy Dunn, personally partners closely with many of our suppliers' CEOs, visiting regularly and building a relationship of trust that helps us feel confident in the way they treat their staff."

So they're not perfect, but they clearly have ethics in mind. Bonobos wants to be a good company in every sense. Those efforts should be rewarded! In that spirit, let's admire some pretty shirts:

There's also plenty of non-shirt stuff:

Here's an outfit to end with:

If only I could convince X to wear pastels! But then he wouldn't have his signature lumberjack vibe. I guess I can handle the pastels for both of us...

  3. That's a really admirable policy for a company to have. I'm now thinking about outfitting my man in a few things from here! I kind of want to burn all of his t-shirts and buy him new ones anyways!

  4. That bag in the photo is the sort of thing I'd use for uni! I love it. It's great when a company when admit their flaws as well. I find that really admirable.

  5. These are not unmanly colors. Plaids are very masculine.
