Progression In Session
I found a dandelion! Of course I made a wish and took photos of myself doing it, but those shots didn't turn out well. Hopefully the wish will be more successful.
If my outfit looks familiar, it's because I have worn this top layered over a dress more than once before. I like the peplum-ish effect. My Halloween ensemble relied on it.
Today I made a conscious decision to start simplifying my personal aesthetic. Not because I think there's anything wrong with my current style, but because I want to try something different. I believe that I can learn how to make an impact with understatement. Of course, I won't instantly be good at employing my wardrobe in a new way. So I intend to embrace the process, even though patience isn't my forte. Experience has convinced me that "constraint forces creativity" is just as true as "necessity is the mother of invention" (mostly because both phrases carry the same sentiment). In accordance with that principle, my first move will be to put away some of my clothes for a while, so I can experiment with a pared-down closet. Okay, that's a lie. My real first move was starting an inspiration board.
It almost feels like springtime already:
I love wildflowers. All the better if they look like sunshine!

Love the colour and pattern on the dress :-) Also the tousled hair look is cute too ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've been discovering the joys of minimalism in makeup - not that I'm ever going to give up my fabulous violet lipstick (perish the though!) but it's nice to have a medium between WOW! and 'eh, not gonna wear anything'.
I have a hard time with that. I'm always like, "What is the point if I'm not IN YOUR FACE WITH PINK?"
DeleteLoving your windswept hair. That mischievous look on your face says, 'I have a secret.'
ReplyDeleteThanks! Maybe I do *waggles eyebrows mysteriously*
DeleteI love dandelions! These are refreshing photos.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I hope you get them too soon :)
DeleteBeautiful layering <3 I adore the textures in the top and the bright colors underneath. ^_^
