Bad Style Blogging

pink rose brooch & pink socks

What are you talking about? No, these aren't the same leggings that I wore yesterday. I plead the fifth! Pay attention to my pink socks instead. Actually maybe don't, since they're very crumpled. Hmm.

So today my ex came over for family dinner (context here). We watched The Lady Eve beforehand, while drinking mugs of hot cocoa on a heated couch, and it was excellent. (Thanks for the recommendation, his_girl_friday!) I might have to do an inspiration post about Barbara Stanwyck's ensembles in that movie, because oh my gosh. Glorious.

Supper took place at a local Nepalese restaurant. The conversation flowed pretty easily. I guess we'll go somewhere from here. (Duh.) In any case, I have therapy tomorrow. Aaand one of my goals for this week is to visit the library. That's not related to anything else--just sayin'.

pink rose brooch on navy blue sweater

I always have to wear a brooch with this sweater, because it bears the logo of a fat-shaming chain store that I hate. And I cut the tag off of my sleeve, which is why there's a weird white bit stuck there. (Obviously I didn't buy this. I saved it from my sister's giveaway pile.)

Bedraggled calla lilies. It beat up the flowers, but we really needed this rain!

  1. Cutie pie. I love the brooch. Would that fat-shaming shop be Urban lol? Glad the dinner went well. Curious as to what'll happen next! xoxo

    1. Nope. It's sad that there are so many stores that it could be. And thank you!

    1. Now I wish that I had named this post "La-La-La-Lichen"! I'm just in my neighborhood, like usual. There are random big rocks around here.

  3. Down with the fat-shaming store! I wish I knew which one it was, because this one isn't entirely obvious to me.
I love coming on here and seeing your new combination of clothes (even if you use the same ones over and over... the only tights I ever wear are from Cuddlduds! lol), but what I love equally is your personality that shows through when you write. You have this sense of humor that seems to be always present, and I love it!

    1. Someday I'm gonna count how many items of clothing I own, just for kicks. And then count how many I actually wear, haha. I thought about mentioning the name of the store, but I felt like that might kinda defeat the purpose of obscuring their logo, you know? And thank you, Danielle! I feel the same way about you!

  4. Fat shaming or no (and there are way too many that are), I kind of hate clothing with logos on it anyway - it's like, I paid for the garment, and now I have to be a free billboard for you as well? No. I might not mind if it was a small producer that I really liked, but even then I still prefer an interesting embroidered symbol, say, to just having 'Billabong' (or whatever) writ large across my bust/back.

Plays havoc with the stealth, too. ;-) Love the brooch!

  6. Hahahaha, that's hilarious that you're covering up the logo. Is it Abercrombie and Fitch? At least you can still wear it this way. :)

Oooh, library! Have fun there! I recently went to the bookstore since it was ~snowing~ and I had a grand time looking around (and buying the last game of thrones book that's out, wahoo!)
