Correlate

OOTD 12/22/2013

I like this dress a lot, but it has an awkward tendency to cling to my thighs. Also, I want you to pretend that I am wearing different shoes. My burgundy-ish Mary Janes just aren't cutting it. I love them, which is why they're all scuffed up, but they don't match my cardigan! Anyway, the past few days have been spent watching Rules of Engagement and crafting madly to get everything done by Christmas. I'm stymied by the person who stumps me every year: my mom. As they say, what can you get for the women who buys whatever she feels like owning has everything? The answer, of course, is that you get her something super personal and awesome, but that's a worryingly tall order. Eh--I'll manage. I always do.

Sorry about the affected melancholic glamor poses. I can't resist.

  2. I usually have the same clinging issue or a dress will just ride up between my thighs, resulting in a completely awkward situation! I googled it one day out of desperation, and it turns out that a slip is apparently the answer to my problem. Seems right? Haven't tried it yet!

I like that you matched your socks and headband. Unexpected but completely satisfactory :D

    1. I'm glad someone noticed the matching headband + socks! I found it satisfying too.

I do wear a slip sometimes, but I only have one and it's too long for this dress. Blurgh.

  4. Such a cute dress! I know what you mean about the clinging though...I mean, rogues tend to wear quite tight fitting clothes, but sometimes there are pieces that just aren't supposed to cling, that do...

    Damn static-y fabrics! (Or static-y thighs?) :-)

  5. Ooo you just have to wear a slip for it not to cling! :) And what did you end up making your momma? Mine always stumps me too- it's like I always think I know her style until I see the semi-disappointed look while opening her present haha

    1. I did come up with something, but I can't divulge details until after the 25th, because my mom reads this blog! And I know that exact experience, though, haha.

  6. I am so about the ruffle detailing on that dress! I usually wear bike shorts under my dresses, and I have the same problem. Wearing a slip does really help.

    1. I better get my hands on some more slips! I love the ruffles too--they're the reason I bought the dress.

  7. Haha that's how I feel trying to buy presents for my dad. He's so hard to shop for because he has pretty much anything he wants that I could actually afford.
But anyway, this outfit is so cute. I actually think your burgundy mary janes look great with that pink cardigan!
