The Cozy Holiday Stitch Witch Look
Yup, those are snapshots of me doing actual physical labor--an uncommon occurrence, to say the least. My dad is installing a bunny palace (read: huge new enclosure) in our backyard, as a big Christmas present to me/my mom/the rabbits. Today I volunteered to help out with some of the digging. Upon noticing that I was all sweaty, I thought, "Gosh, this is like when I soaked in a hot lavender bath last night!" Hopefully that gives you a sense of how infrequently I do this kind of work. A leisurely stint in the tub is what comes to mind when I consider sweat. Anyway, although I'm not a rough-'n'-tumble kinda gal, I am glad to get my hands dirty every once in a while. It gives me a smidgen more perspective, and reminds me to appreciate the people who do hard physical labor every day.
The point I'm getting to is that I planned to wear the shirt in the digging pictures with the outfit below, but it got grimy. I had to substitute an acceptable-but-inferior tank top. I still really like what I wore, because of the soft Christmas colors!
I found a feather. Hopefully it didn't have gruesome turkey germs all over it.
"Hmm, can feathers carry rabies? Maybe I should go find some Purell..."
One last thing: today's mail brought a package full of gorgeous Gift of Thrift presents from Marisa Noelle! I was especially thrilled because I really like her blog. Anyyyway, those items will be showing up soon, but I wanted to say something immediately. I'm excitable. Happy holidays, everybody!

Love the skirt! Such pretty florals (usually sadly lacking in your average rogue's wardrobe...)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I found it in a church thrift shop in Portland. I also love the floral pattern.
DeleteI cracked up laughing with I read the sentence, "I found a feather. Hopefully it didn't have gruesome turkey germs all over it.", and it was immediately followed by a picture of you smiling holding the feather. For some reason this combination just tickled me.
ReplyDeleteBahaha, good!
DeleteHaha I love the manual labor pictures. You'll rarely see me doing manual labor either. I prefer to labor my brain instead!
ReplyDeleteBut anyway, I really like the way your cozy scarf looks with the print on your skirt. The colors almost go together perfectly!
Also I hope the feather didn't have diseases either!
Me too--I am much more suited to brain labor. And thank you!
