One hazard that comes with reading a lot of style blogs is getting jealous of the cool kids' wardrobes. I want a full-fledged cape! Like Toni's cropped version or Katie's long one. Who doesn't want to wear a cape? They're COOL! At least I think so. (As do superheroes everywhere.) Alas, I will have to make do with this cardigan/shawl/poncho thingy. I shouldn't be complaining, because it's actually quite cape-like when thrown back over the shoulders.
An element of this outfit that I feel really pleased with is my peppermint bow:
I made it last December--a year ago--but didn't get a chance to wear it more than a few times before the month was over. It just didn't feel right after New Year's. Similarly, I never start listening to Christmas music before December 1st.
