Dead Dawn

OOTD 11/16/2013

I just watched Shaun of the Dead with my parents. It was the first time any of us had seen it. My assessment: funny and sad. I won't spoil any plot points, but the whole thing made me feel sentimental and weepy. Also somewhat squicked out, because I hate gore, even when it's cartoonish. What can I say? I'm a sensitive soul.

Now I'm sitting in my favorite armchair, drinking gingerbread tea. My head isn't buzzing with work stuff anymore. Perhaps it is time to go watch a few episodes of Peep Show, my favorite snarky British television series, which I'm replaying for the umpteenth time. Maybe I'll finish the skirt that I've been crocheting for ages. In general, it's time to disentangle myself from the concerns of the day. Funny... I'm writing this post at night, but it'll go up in the morning, when the next day's concerns are there to deal with. Oh well--that's life, ain't it?

A few of these photos, such as the one above, are blurry. The camera didn't autofocus properly. I need to fix some setting or other. Anyway, sorry about that.

I look kinda ghostlike in that shot, don't I? If this were meant to be an artsy blog instead of a style blog, I'd put it into black and white and fiddle with the values so I looked really spoOoOoky.

  4. I think that Shaun of the Dead definitely mixes the two genres of horror and comedy very well. You still laugh but are left with that sick feeling that horror movies can leave you with. Glad that you finally got to watch it!
Peep Show is one of my favorite British shows. I love Mitchell & Webb, they are hilarious! I really like the POV from their mind and that you can hear their thoughts!
