Chicka Boom
Hello, flower! I'm telling you, friends, this dress makes me feel like a million bucks. Which is especially great since it cost significantly less than that--$5 at the most. Thrifting is, to borrow a term from decades past, swell.
The most exciting thing that happened today was playing with my sister's crowd of baby chickens. She visited her birth dad and brought back a veritable flock of peeping puffballs. (Apparently he raises brood hens and has a surplus.) I didn't take any pictures--I was too busy cooing at them--but trust me, these birds are precious. It's unfortunate that chicks have to grow up into chickens, because unlike their adorable former selves, chickens are demonic.

When we were kids, my little sister did an egg incubation project in her class and got to bring home the chick when it hatched. It was so adorable and we taught it to sleep on its back like a baby while we held it. When it turned into an actual chicken, my dad took it to the family farm. For real. He wasn't just saying that. :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww, that's nice :) I think when ours grow up they will run around in the backyard with the rabbits.
DeleteAww, baby chicks are so cute! The only time I actually got to hold one though, it spectacularly evacuated its bowels into my hand. I'm not sure which of us was more surprised. It was an awkward moment. :-P
ReplyDeletethat's definitely happened to me a couple of times, haha
