Periwinkle Procrastinator
I spent most of today putting off an essay that I have to write for sociology class. Instead of sitting down and typing it up like a diligent student, I snacked and crocheted while watching Peep Show, one of my all-time TV favorites. However, I did manage a few genuine accomplishments: I walked the neighbor's dog, finished The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, enrolled in linguistic anthropology for the fall semester (!!!), and assembled a slapdash burrito supper setup. Yay me! Um, the essay will get written. Just... later.
Recently at the thrift store, I rifled through the men's sweaters in search of exactly what I found: something oversized, cozy, and made of pure wool. My goal was to be able to throw the sweater in the dryer without worrying that it would shrink beyond wearability. This periwinkle number is just the ticket! It looks a bit awkward in the last photo--but I'll sacrifice any elegant silhouette for warmth:

I fee like you got a ton done today and I went to work and didn't even get that much done!
ReplyDeleteThey were all easy tasks, so I guess that's why I still felt unproductive... Also because I was doing other stuff to avoid doing something I needed to do, haha
DeleteOmg, don't put wool in the dryer! It will for sure shrink!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know! The sweater is oversized enough that I'll still be able to wear it just fine after it felts.
DeleteI love those pants! I wish I had some so that I could distress the lower edges, tie a soft white cord belt around my waist and play castaway, or climb to the top of a tree and pretend to be the kid who gets stuck in the crow's nest to look for land...
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. This is an important idea. Pirates rock.
DeletePEEP SHOW! That show is fucking hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your outfit posts, but I think my heart flutters especially for ones like this in which you look so completely comfortable and stylish.
Hellz yes! David Mitchell is brilliant. Thank you, my dear <3
DeleteOh procrastination. Sometimes it's not so bad -- like when you get a burrito out of it!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good way to look at it! I do love me some burritos.
DeleteOh my god, I love Peep Show! And it's so hard not to watch three seasons in a row, procrastination is totally understandable.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one ;)
