Windblown

selfie in the elevator ceiling mirror

This might be my all-time favorite selfie, taken in the reflective ceiling of a BART elevator. My family is arrayed around me, semi-anonymously. Well, not actually around me, except in the sense that I am the center of attention. My own attention, that is. Ahem.

So, I mentioned the other day that we all embarked on a ferry ride. I wasn't intending to take outfit pictures, but my sister cajoled me into it. She snapped these shots with my phone:

Atrocious photo quality, but I look pretty cute, which is the crucial factor. You may recognize my beloved Mata Traders dress. And here's my sister, with hair tossed by the sea breeze:

There's an outtake on Instagram, and more photos of Destiny on Tumblr: 1 & 2.

  1. You look super happy in these photos! I agree, I really like the first photo. For a second I thought you were somehow floating, haha

  2. I love the elevator pic! It looks like you're hanging from the ceiling.

  3. I love standing up on the deck of ferries! Reminds me of the ride from Naples to Capri - I tried to persuade the Wizard to come up on deck when he was feeling icky, but he was too scared to move...needless to say he was up on deck not long after that, LOL!

The only downside is the crazy salt hair...when your hair is butt length. You look more or less like Worzel Gummidge's hair on steroids...

    1. That sounds so lovely! My hair actually was kinda weird and sticky when I got home.

    2. Yep, that's the salt water in the air! You got the free 'beachy hair' treatment ;-)

  4. I actually think the "atrocious" phone quality is pretty cute in and of itself. It gives everything a certain grimy beauty that I kinda love. You look smiley and happy <3
