Breezy Contradictions
I had fun wearing a dainty lace sundress with chunky black boots. As Marlen Komar recently noted, opposites attract when it comes to fashion. I enjoy juxtaposing aesthetics that "don't go together" as much as I relish composing a matchy-matchy outfit. It may not have much of an actual effect on those who observe me, but the idea of shaping my ensemble's perception feels empowering. I like being in control of my own image.
Both historically and currently, the majority of women have been denied the right to represent themselves, whether politically, artistically, academically, religiously, scientifically, medically, or even in terms of personal identity. Therefore I cherish my privilege and freedom. I can wear whatever I want and say that it means whatever I want; the ability to define myself thus is precious.
Pointing my remote at the camera--I didn't realize it was already taking a picture!
The wind had a lot of opinions today. It was like, "I'll help you display your skirt!" And then it blew emphatically. Whoosh.
That's my silly strongman pose. And here's my #fotd:
Red lipliner + pink lipstick. I'm not classy, and I love it.

ReplyDeleteThank you, m'dear! Yes indeed, blue eyeshadow =D
DeleteYou need captions for your remote picture. It could be anything that you're pointing at the camera. You have such a dead-serious look of determination on your face.
ReplyDeleteAlso, adorables dress. Love the lace and yellow belt.
I should have photoshopped in a sword! "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
DeleteDresses and boots are the best.
ReplyDeleteDainty dress + combat boots = perfection.

DeleteI think the pretty lacy dress looks really cool paired with the boots! I'm a fan.
