Being Catty
Mrow! My dear Aunt Nancy sent me this delightful little purse. I'm not a cat person, but only because I'm allergic to them. It's a bit tragic: as much as I love dogs, my temperament is decidedly feline. But I can't spend time with kitties because my eyes start itching and watering, and I sneeze every five minutes. My dad has it a lot worse; he's allergic to dogs too. And yet the poor guy ended up with a wife and two daughters who adore pets. We're only a little remorseful about it. (Actually our family dog is a hypoallergenic breed, so it's not a big deal, but still.)
In truth I am most like my bunnies, because I enjoy hiding and personal grooming, which are two very important rabbit activities. But I don't dig constantly or munch on hay, so that's where the resemblance ends.
Unnecessary note: I actually did have this scarf wrapped around my neck in a functional manner, but I unwound it to take a picture of my camera necklace and forgot to restore the former arrangement.
So, does anyone have some thoughts on cats?

I have a cat, but no clothing with cat prints on.I prefer butterflys, dragonflys or cake!!!! Again, wonderful style.

Oh my gosh, now I want a dress with butterflies, dragonflies, AND cake on it! Thank you, Jackie!
DeleteI adore cats, I have 3 rescues from Greece that I brought to France with me on the ferry :)
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool! Rescuing animals is such a wonderful thing to do.
DeleteNot a cat fan I must confess. But - I do love your scarf!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, thank you! That's an especially welcome compliment because I made it myself.
DeleteThat dress is so cute!! I also admire your mad layering skills...
ReplyDeleteI totally want to see your take on a rogue/dungeoneering outfit someday! :-D
Eep, I'm not sure I could pull that off! Dungeoneering isn't my strong suit, truth be told. . .
DeleteAnd thank you, Syl! The dress was a thrift shop find, just like everything I love.
Ah, but you forget that you can wear whatever you personally feel is appropriate for dungeoneering ;-)
DeleteIf you think about it, going on quests that take you into the depths of thrift stores (which can be, let's face it, a little dark on occasion) to search for the hidden treasure concealed there, dodging the obstacles of other questers and trapped clothesracks (you know, the ones where everything falls off when you touch it) - I think you know more about the essence of dungeoneering than you give yourself credit for! :-D
Ahhh, it's like you're shining a flashlight into a cave! As in, you've elucidated things. I might be able to make this into a post, actually. Hmm.
DeleteI love cats so much! They are fickle and cuddly, which is basically me. I used to have a cat but he went missing and we never found him. :( He was a great kitty, though. He would sleep next to me every night and head bump me as a sign of affection. I can't have cats where I currently live, but I hope when I have my own place someday, I can adopt :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha "fickle and cuddly", exactly! I'm sorry about your lost cat--that's so sad. It sounds like he was a great kitty indeed. And here's to the future adoptee! Meow!
DeleteAaah, I have to say, it's so nice to see springy colours! I'm stuck in winter mode, so this is really refreshing. The colours are gorgeous on you.
ReplyDeleteI always had a dog despite being super allergic... Until I started dating my bf and met his cat. Now we somehow have three! I think I'm just an animal person in general :)
Thank you! Spring colors are my favorite palette, although I enjoyed playing with the "in" fall colors. I kinda skipped winter 'cause we haven't had much of one where I live!
DeletePets are wonderful, wonderful creatures. Congrats on your kitties times three!
Aw your cat purse is so cute. I love kitschy cat things because I think they're funny in a good/ironic way. I'm quite allergic to cats too and never was that fond of them. I'm much more of a dog person. They're more friendly! I just want to be loved and cats make you try to hard! I'm actually allergic to dogs too but not as much as cats...
ReplyDeleteKitsch is pretty great, IMO. Dogs definitely have a special something that cats don't, but I would argue that the reverse is true as well!
