Let It Snow
December has always been my favorite month, because it has Christmas in it. I love the holidays--in my opinion, this really is the most wonderful time of the year. But all the festivity can be stressful. Even a small project like decorating the tree gets me flustered. You have to haul out so many boxes, and detangle a million strings of lights. Then of course half the ornaments don't have their hooks! Clutter and disorganization trigger my anxiety. That happened today--I got overwhelmed. Luckily, my mom had the sense to suggest, "Sonya, why don't you stop decorating and take the dog around the block?" That helped clear my head, although I still feel uneasy about the amount of stuff we have to deal with. I guess it's good that I dressed pretty simply in comparison...

Oh my gosh I totally hear you. I love the idea of all the festivities but then I can't wrap for anything and then I get tired halfway through decorating the Christmas tree! December isn't my favorite month but I don't really have one.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there's so much to dooo! My second favorite month would be one of the spring ones. . . possibly June, which also happens to contain my birthday.
DeleteThis dress is so pretty.
ReplyDeletelast year we didnt decorate until a friend came over and saw our empty box and said "c'mon, I'll help you, let's do it now." and so we did and we had a blast. but only because she made it fun, otherwise it seemed like a chore so we just didnt bother w/ it. this year things are so crazy for us w/ finals and moving at the end of the month (which we wont even start packing for until finals are over Sat) so we havent even bothered w/ a tree. i figure some ppl have diff strengths/interests and i'll let them make pretty christmas setups instead (like my mom's home will be i'm sure). that's great your mom can read you thought and make helpful suggestions. and finally, that dress really is lovely indeed!
ReplyDeleteYeah, you gotta do what works for you and your situation!
DeleteSuch a beautiful dress <3 This style has a rustic feel to it that I just adore. Great job with this!

Thank you! The dress is meant to be a replica of a late 18th century style, so it should feel rustic, haha.
