I Got The Month Of May

Blue Circle Scarf, White Fuzzy Knit Sweater, Short Grey Skirt, Yellow Bow Brooch, Blue & Purple Argyle Socks - OOTD 12/29/2013

It was super windy and bright when I took these photos, so in most of the pictures my eyes are closed or I'm squinting. C'est la vie, as I like to say, pretending that I know French, and ignoring how much the spelling of that language bugs me. (It's not like English is much better.)

I put this outfit together based on wanting to wear the circle scarf, which was a gift, and these argyle socks from PACT, a fair-trade company that stole my heart with the line "change starts with your underwear" (from their "About Us" page). Nothing wins my loyalty like ethics and puns! Not to mention a good product. My mom actually bought these socks for my dad, but he didn't want them. Score one for Sonya.

I made the bow brooch specifically for this outfit, partially because Ali Hval looked so pretty in yellow the other day. ("I got sunshine...") My wonderful aunt, Nancy Bea Miller, sent me the comfy sweater.

Blue Circle Scarf & Subtle Makeup - FOTD

I think it was Plato who said, "When your makeup is on point, your life is on point." (It wasn't.) Although I'm definitely still a novice with cosmetic pens and paints, I feel pretty good about my "face of the day". That's important because this afternoon could be emotionally difficult. I'm also wearing delectable perfume; my mom gave me a sample of Valentino's Valentina. I smell like Macy's! In a good way.

Sparkle Cream & Lavender Nail Polish, Silver Ring With Blue & Purple Jewels - Manicure Shot

Inept shiny manicure. Since posting about Christmas nails, I have started painting my own again! It's really fun.

    1. Thanks! That's the best part to get complimented on, since it's the part I actually made, haha.

  3. Lyrics to "My Girl"? :)
I've also started painting my nails since my Christmas nails as well! That's too cool, we're in nails sync, yes! I even painted my toe nails this morning. I normally only do that once a year! I feel great! :D

    1. Yup, "My Girl"! I've been listening to it a bunch recently. And high five for nail-painting synchrony! I'll have to do my toes too.
